Held in Highland Park each May, the festival showcases over 1,200 varieties of lilacs, painting the landscape with brilliant colors and filling the air with their intoxicating fragrance. Beyond its floral displays, the festival is a community celebration featuring live music, artisan markets, delicious food, and family-friendly activities. It’s a time when Rochester truly comes alive.
Signature Events at the Festival
Annual Lilac Parade (May 10, 2025): Kick off the celebration with this beloved event featuring marching bands, dancers, and the colorful Damascus mini cars—a crowd favorite.
Art in the Park: On May 10-11 and May 17-18, browse over 100 artist booths offering handcrafted goods like ceramics, jewelry, and sculptures.
Live Music: With performances on multiple stages, the festival offers everything from local bands to national acts. Past performers have included big names and hidden gems.
Family Fun in the Kids’ Zone: Children will enjoy rides, zip lines, bounce houses, and games, making it a hit for families.
Sensory Space: A new addition, the festival now includes a Sensory Space in partnership with AutismUp, providing a calm environment for attendees of all ages to relax.
